Case Report: 30 year-old MMA athlete with anterolateral hip pain

This 30-year-old Mixed Martial Arts athlete presented with right anterolateral, “deep” hip pain only while performing high kicks or with flexibility training in the ‘A-P split’ position.  The pain was described as a ‘pinch’ pain which has recently begun to occur with more frequency and is now negatively affecting his training.  The following x-ray was provided:

Based soley on the history and plain film can you suggest a diagnosis (hint: nothing more is needed)?
